I feel completely at home on the bike, so much so that the prospect of walking for any length of time seems odd. Perhaps it’s the rattle and hum of the road that’s addictive, those purposeful meditative sounds propel me forward, reassured that every day is a new adventure.

Conversations have been had, practical considerations addressed, with dates marked on the calendar, maps laid out across the table and tentative routes agreed upon,

I won’t be traveling alone, Therese is coming with me, so we will be “Two on Tour” and updating our blog posts along the way.

On the 1^st of March we take the ferry from Port Melbourne to Devonport Tasmania. Then it’s a couple of weeks touring the “Apple Isle“, testing out the bikes, our kit and ourselves before we fly to Vancouver Canada where we start cycling the Pacific Coast Trail- from Canada to Mexico.
