It’s quite simple really: You work out a tentative route; organise the time off; pack the bike and go. However, as they say
“The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry.”
Mum has experienced some complications with her recovery, as family rally around her hospital bed they tell me I should just keep cycling and of course they’re right, that’s what Mum would want too. But out here alone on the road I’m left to wrestle with my conscious, with my personal enjoyment of the ride marked by concerns for mums well being.
I have made the decision to put my ride on hold for a couple of weeks so I can return home and then to country Victoria to visit with Mum, after which time I expect to be back on the bike and peddling and blogging harder than ever to make up for lost time.
Off into the sunset!
Nick, sorry to hear about your mum, thoughts & prayers are with you, Elaine xxx
